Thank you for the great presentation. I love the idea of putting a son or daughter in the file name for a family member’s children who are not my ancestor. I will be implementing this into my file names.

Thank-you for this video. I’ve also decided that storing on my own computer’s Explorer works best.
Suggestion – For surnames I also use their bday before their name – as a file name- so the family is sorted chronologically.
I needed the reminder to gather all my files from various places!

Does this method work well with the Legacy program? In other words, when Legacy uses a pathway to search for a location on my computer, will this method of organization in this video work well with Legacy?

Thank you! This is basically what I am trying to do, but have gotten way behind. Really helps to see/hear that what I’m doing can work. I’m tackling my desktop horde of genealogy related files today!

I am forever looking for files on my computer. I am embarrassed to say, sometimes I think I’ve found new discoveries but it is what I’d already downloaded in past but not filed. I make the mistake of trying to rename everything, get overwhelmed and give up. Not this time.
    Thanks!

Great information. I have been doing research for 40+ years and am converting from the mixture of paper and digital to digital. This is such a help.

Excellent quick and easy-to-do organization system. I like the “+” sign before an important folder to keep it at the top of the folders! So useful.
