Excellent presentation. I have researched some of the Southern Claim Commision Records before, and now I know a whole lot more about them.
Not only was this a wonderful demonstration for a record set of which I have vague knowledge and included excellent methodology technique suggestions, but Ms. Gillins is a personable speaker and inspiring instructor!
Fantastic Presentation providing a window into the diverse group of individuals that may have filed claim, represented or given testimony for claimants following the CIvil War. Well wort the listen and the Syllabus provides excellent details with solid links to help you get started into researching your civil war period ancestors in the south. Ms. GIllins is an engaging speaker that has command of the subject matter and is excited to be sharing it with the attendees.
Webinar was well put together. It was very informative.
Phenomenal presentation!
This was an invaluable webinar. I learned so much. The presenter, Ms. Batiste Gillins is an exceptional teacher. I look forward to more webinars from her and others on topics relating to Slavery and the enslaved in the U.S.
I liked listening to this webinar. It had lots of interesting facts and showed the backdrop of American history. I would recommend it for anyone who is researching in the South.
