Thanks, Colleen, for the overview and also for pointing out some of the potential problems. When I had access to Hathitrust, I often used that speedscroll to quickly locate sections of old books that could be useful to me. It saved a lot of time and angst. I’m going to miss it when I am able to access Hathi again. Another issue that concerns me is the horizontal bar. I have a hand disorder that makes repeated horizontal motion from my wrist difficult, and I think this is actually a common experience. I’d like to be able to make that bar vertical or at least move it to make it easier for me to reach! I hope that Hathi considers this a work in progress and are willing to adapt it as they receive feedback. I’m looking forward to getting back on Hathi- amazing what goodies show up in some of their materials!
