The English parish was both an ecclesiastical and a civil jurisdiction. Both jurisdictions created informative records and kept them in the Parish Chest. This presentation will examine the breadth and wealth of information that can be found, going well beyond the baptism, marriage and burial registers.

I had not realised there is so much more information to be had, I just need to find out how to access from NZ. This is the first time I have been able to actually be here live, and I think I benefited more that way than watching afterwards. Thx so much to all involved.
Appreciate the global webinars.
Clear, good examples, shared why records important. I’m going to go back and review his other webinars. Going to check out his blog also.
excellent
Excellent – as always! Good to hear that you have signed Paul up for some of the DownUnder ones next year.
Excellent information on how to access such interesting stuff 🙂
Excellent introduction. Can’t wait to start looking at my parish in Essex.
Excellent presenter. I would like Paul to make a presentation on Scottish and Welsh sources available on-line.
Excellent speaker. Interesting subject, but no ancestors in England.
Excellent webinar. Thank you for introducing us to a new avenue of research. Hopefully I will now be able to trace my great-grandfather’s birth/baptism records. He was born in Chatham, Kent to Irish born parents.
Excellent! Presented so much information.
Excited about seeking out the parish chest for my ancestors in England
Fabulous!
Fascinating and totally new content!
Good info. Thanks
Great info!
Great resources. Years ago I found a Bastardy Order for one of my ancestors in Landkey, Devon. I was working with the Australian Child Support Agency at the time, and took a copy of the document to work. Other staff were fascinated to find that child support was in place way back in 1801.
Great show.
gREAT TO HAVE TEACHERS THAT KNOW THEIR STUFF TEACH WEBINARS. PAUL KNOWS HIS STUFF. THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU TAUGHT US. MARVELOUS PRESENTATION.
Had to leave for dentist appointment but hope to catch up with the rest later.
He is the most informed person and entertaining as well.
I had no idea there were records like this…awesome presentation
I learned a lot.
I learned so much. Can hardly wait to search.
I will need to see this again. It was so full of information.
Interesting
I’ve heard Paul’s parish chest talk several times, but the records always amaze me. I’m mostly looking at 17th century and earlier British records. They are few and far between, but I always get excited when I locate one.
Learned a lot, many thanks.
Lots of useful information.
Paul always gives valuable research tips and sources for our English ancestors.
Paul is always a font of knowledge. Thank you!
Paul is fun to listen to even when one is unsure if they will use the records. It was great to know where and what kinds of records might be held by a parish.
Paul Milner never disappoints! His “”Buried Treasure: What’s in the English Parish Chest”” is a superb presentation and an eye-opening explanation of an under-utilized resource for genealogists and family historians! Many thanks!
Picked up some good pointers
Really valuable information
So much informative information!
Speaker was well practiced. Slides were easy to read, and matched the topic. No problems connecting in a timely manner. (I was late getting to my computer and had to get to the webinar in less than 2 minutes) Audio was perfect. Enjoyed the information. Now I know what a parish chest is, and why it exists.
Thanks — great ideas to work on.
Thanks to Paul for an interesting and entertaining Webinar
This webinar was quite helpful. I did not know these records existed. I hope these record sets help me locate more of my family in England.
very helpful
Very helpful, now I want to ger researching.
very informative and helpful – bring on 2020
Very informative!
Very informative. It was time well spent. I wasn’t aware of all the parish records available. Made notes. Examples used were very helpful.
Very informative. Openned a new possible door into my ancestors lives.
Very interesting presentation. Points the way to following up researching the parish records for a wealth of information.
Very useful for genealogists who are NOT beginners and given at a good pace.
Very useful information and well-presented! Great speaker; love the accent; could listen to Paul Milner all day.
What wonderful stuff one can obtain. Gives me possibilities for one of my so-disobliging ancestors. Very well put together and paced
Wonderful webinar on English Parish Chest.
