About this webinar

If your internet speeds fluctuate throughout your home. Like in the office next to the modem it’s screaming fast, but head down to the basement or upstairs to the kid’s bedroom and it crawls, then you need a wifi extender like Google Wifi.

Does it work with any ISP or do you have to have Google Fiber?

Thank you but, I have unfortunately learned, if the speed isn’t available coming in to the home you are still stuck with boosting it to what is available. I can usually only dream of the slowest speed (14 Mbps) you showed. Speedtest showed my download speed yesterday morning to be 0.80 Mbps; the upload was 26.08 Mbps so it not my equipment that is at fault – it is congestion and (perhaps, but shouldn’t be) intentional speed limiting by the provider to manipulate you into paying more for another access plan. That is not an unusual dichotomy of results on Telstra, the largest and supposedly best (also the only real choice in many parts of regional and rural) Australia. I often joke about how dial-up would be an improvement.

Oops. Just did another Speedtest and, a transient miracle, download is up to 12.27 Mbps. Gotto go and download some of those 50MB files I need before each one returns to being a daylong exercise in frustration.

Thank you for the tech tips!!!
