I haven’t spent a lot of time looking at the matches in my DNA results, mainly because I haven’t been sure how to find who our common ancestor is. Diahan Southard gave great examples, and showed how to interpret what we are seeing. This was indeed a great seminar! Thank you.

I will be busy over the weekend working on my matches and changing my dots on Ancestry. Lots of food for thought and ideas of how to make my matches.
I’m a beginner in DNA so it was a little overwhelming but it encourages me to learn more.
I’m new at this, so I really liked your idea about using the dots for several generations. I was only using the dots to divide my father’s side and mother’s side.

Pretty good. I have heard before about extending someone else ‘simple’ tree, but did not understand just how. Now I do understand and it appears to be more doable than I had thought. Good methodology included — I found it to be a 6-step process.
