About this webinar

Genealogical research in Spain can pose a number of challenges for any researcher: there's the linguistic barrier, the lack of centralized records, a lack of understanding of how Spanish resources are organized and how they can be accessed. This webinar will explore how you can trace your Spanish ancestors' marriage records and understand the "rules of the game" when it came to tying the knot!

About the speaker

    Carramba, que webinar!

Daniel Smith-Ramos is such an organized presenter. He is easy to follow. My Spanish ancestors came to the New World hundreds of years ago. Nevertheless, I found his lecture relevant in terms of the historical timeline he presented.
Additionally, the church and cultural practices are relevant to know because these were similar in Nueva Espana.

Excellent historical content to understand the background of Spanish records.

    Excellent information

Great presentation and extremely interesting. Lots of great facts!

I am trying to find my husband's mother's marriage certificate and his birth certificate so this webnar gave me some ideas. Do you help people who are having a difficult time searching?

I had no idea what to expect and WOW! I learned tons that I didn't even know I didn't know. Thank you!

I was hoping for more information on the names and how they related to marriages.

    Interesting

It was interesting to learn about research in Spain.

Learned things I never knew. Very interesting

My research is more about Mexico which, until independence, was part of Spain. So that was my interest. Mexico largely adopted the Spanish parish priest practices.

    Presentation was great!

    Thanks
