One branch of my family were miners in Nevada. And Arizona. And California. But for some reason one of my grandfathers sailed to Australia (where my father was born in 1910) and then came back again to the US. Wish I knew more of that story.

I suspect my Ggandfather was in Ballarat area, as he came to NZ in 1862 as a Miner and his to be wife lived in Creswick, Jane came out to NZ aged 18 and went straight to where he was in Clyde, Central Otago. But I have to fine him in Victoria, William Walker, rather hard. Thanks so much for that helpful lecture.
