Tracking the movement of ancestors in Australia can be difficult without available census records. However, there are numerous record alternatives, one of which is school admission registers as children are recorded each year, with details including parent’s names and dates of entry and exit. Industrial or trade schools, universities, religious schools and others can also present information not found elsewhere.

This was a really comprehensive webinar, with so much valuable information, useful research tips, detailed explanations and helpful suggestions … and yet very easy to follow, and all presented so clearly and logically. I loved listening to the personal, humorous examples that Cathie shared about her own schooling. As a senior citizen and retired school teacher in Queensland, I had assumed that I would know a fair bit about the subject, but I was wrong! Thank you Cathie for sharing your insights and knowledge, and thank you to Geoff and the Legacy team for making these webinars freely available to us.
Thanks very much Tricia – glad you found it useful.
so many more resources than i would have thought to use. Thank you for all your ideas and for presenting this webinar
Excellent speaker, very interesting and relevant topic, great examples. Thank you.
Thanks very much Therese.
Such a specific topic – yet one I’m very interested in, so this was great! This webinar opened my mind about what is or could be available about my Australian teacher ancestors. Thanks Cathie! Thanks Legacy Family Tree!
I am so pleased you found it helpful Cameron.
