Everyone from Scotland is in a Clan, right? Wrong. The Clan was a phenomenon of only certain parts of Scotland, and not the majority. Is your surname associated with a Highland or Borders Clan or a Lowlands Family? If so, what can you do about it?

So enjoyed the replay! Thank you Dr. Durie!
Wonderful! A taste of how to improve my Family History. Definitely going to add some of the ideas to my research. So exciting. Thank you. Patricia.
Thank you so much Bruce! I learned so much, but I wish I could sit with you and ask questions. My Daddy walked Skye Castle for the MacPherson clan about 4 years ago now. He was so proud & looked so handsome in his kilt. The first time a MacPherson had represented in 400 years. He just passed at the end of last month at (82 years) & his trip to Scotland was one of the most precious in his life. He was quite proud to be a Scotsman. Thank you also, for the answer about the MacPherson(s) being a clan.
The presentation was very helpful and extremely interesting. I would have been happy to listen for a couple of hours longer.
Learned so much about clans and the structure of Scottish society!!
Great information, clearing up myths or regularly assumed inaccuracies, and how to find your Scottish people. Thanks! Sarah M.
Fantastic, so enlightening and interesting!
controversial, but I agree.
