While genetic evidence can aid in the resolution of research obstacles, at the end of the day, genetic genealogy is just genealogy and must be considered within the context of documentary evidence. Even so, the aims of documentary research to make sense of anomalies in genetic evidence often center around finding the right person in the right place at the right time to be an ancestor of a research subject.     Fabulous webinar. I am close to identifying, through Y-DNA, my biological great-grand-father. Your ideas will help me narrow things considerably or so I hope. Dealing with the 1870s in Canada, so I have to be creative.

    Very interesting, Although I have followed most of the paths suggested I have never actually listed the steps and I am sure have missed some paths, so, in future I will have a check list set up headed by Interactions of DNA and document evidence.
