Specifically noted the amount of great information that is not digitally indexed which makes me more aware that other states may also have more places to check. NARA being in five locations (states) including Philadelphia was a surprise. I only new about the DC and loved the Maryland site!
The practical guidance for engaging (physically or remotely) the services of the resources was very appreciated. The presenter was easy to understand and didn’t overuse filler words. I was aware of some of the resources, while others were new to me. The “list o’ stuff” for each was very helpful, as I sometimes find the online catalog searches to be non-intuitive.
My Irish great great grandparents immigrated into Philadelphia around time of the Irish famine. This seminar identified the availability of Catholic Parish records and Catholic newspapers. I will be which researching these repositories for my family.
Thank you for all of the information, I can’t make the trip there but hope I can find some needed information online. Most of the research that I need is before 1850 along with immigration before 1800.
