Kory L. Meyerink, MLS, AG, FUGA

Kory Meyerink, professional genealogist, is accredited in four areas (Germany, Midwest, Eastern States and New England U.S.), specializing in the colonial northeast and tracing the origins of German and Dutch immigrants. Early in his career, he developed instructional and reference material for the thousands of FamilySearch Centers supported by the FamilySearch Library. He also served as the primary content consultant for the PBS Ancestors television series. As a teacher, Kory has spoken at many local, state, and national genealogical conferences throughout the U.S. and Canada, including NGS, FGS, and the Utah Genealogical Association, where he also served as president. For 20 years he was adjunct history faculty for Brigham Young University. As the founding director of the Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy, he developed one of the nation’s largest such institutes. He has written extensively, including chapters in all editions of The Source: A Guidebook of American Genealogy, and was the editor and chief author of Printed Sources: A Guide to Printed Genealogical Records. He contributed numerous articles in the major genealogical journals. His recent book, New York in 1698, was published in 2024. A founder of ProGenealogists, the nation’s premier professional genealogy research firm, he remained with them after acquisition by Ancestry. He currently serves as a Master Genealogist and Senior Research Manager with AncestryProGenealogists.
