Ernie holds a bachelor’s degree from Purdue University and a master’s degree from Stanford University. He has been a teacher, translator, genealogist, author, speaker, and local history & genealogy librarian. He is the author of German-English Genealogical Dictionary and Historic German Newspapers Online and a prize-winning genealogy columnist (ISFHWE).
