Thousands of localized censuses, or padrones, were taken all over Mexico during the Colonial era. Mostly created during the 17th to 19th centuries, these censuses provide a snapshot in time of our ancestral families. Learn to find these censuses for your research locations and discover the content they may hold.

Fantastically knowledgeable presenter!
Great information which will be helpful in my research. Will have to watch again & again. Loved the handout too.
well put together as compared to hand written records. reading the hand writing is difficult.
Joy’s presentation was so logical and systematic in its format. I’ve used padrones in my research, but Joy’s webinar refreshed my memory regarding resources I have not used. Her webinar also reminded me that I need to improve my genealogy habits, like keeping a research log!
The webinar was excellent! Joy gave a great overview and many tips on understanding Mexican Census Records which will be helpful in my research.
Excellent information to help me in researching my paternal roots from Tamaulipas, Guanajuato, and possibly San Luis Potosi. I can’t wait to use the resources.
It was wonderful! There is so much more to Latin American (Mexico) research than what I was expecting. Thank you Joy Orio.
Excellent! I learned a great deal about how to continue my research. I now know how to work around the “tall blank walls” I have recently been hitting. I can now work around them! Thank you so much.
