According to the genealogical proof standard, part of pursuing thoroughly exhaustive research is seeking the best available evidence to address a research question. In genetic genealogy research problems, the evidence we use is the test results of living descendants of a research subject, and pursuing the best evidence requires targeted testing of those whose DNA is most likely to help address the research question. Watching Paul’s webinar was like attending a Master Class, and, it was exactly why I love Legacy Family Tree Webinars. The word abundance is almost insufficient to describe the handout and the breadth of knowledge Paul shared with us. Learned a great deal how to focus and utilize DNA evidence to persue the answer to one genealogical question. Step by step, using methodical research techniques, learned how to not only trace the DNA lines to answer the question, but also how to use DNA to also filter out some matches (such as in-laws DNA), which help to clarify and bring into focus an answer with more certainty.
Excellent tips on leveraging all possible types of DNA evidence.
Excellent webinar- as you can expect from Paul it is highly organized with ample illustrations. The best understanding of how to make use of DNA with the Proof Standards but it is so much more than that! This is a webinar you will want to bookmark to watch over and over, learning more each time.
