About this webinar

The 46th state has a much longer history and more available records than most people realize. You may have discovered a possible link to Oklahoma, a Choctaw word meaning “red people.” Or perhaps you want to search for an elusive ancestor who may have hidden in Indian Territory or Oklahoma Territory, the “Twin Territories” that combined to become Oklahoma. Amazing and informative. I had always been told that Oklahoma had no records. Not true!

This is just what I needed. It's a very thorough overview of Oklahoma's beginning. I'm just starting to research my ancestor's Oklahoma history. I missed the first 8 minutes, so I need to watch the replay. Thank you, Ms. Fogarty and Legacy Family Tree.

Today I learned about the complex history and record keeping of the state known as Oklahoma. That's where my maternal grandmother's line comes from, and I always welcome learning new information, gaining historical insight from different perspectives, and seeing the actual records in my ancestors handwriting. Thanks for a wonderful leaning experience!

I have been working on genealogy for 25 years and this is the first class on Oklahoma research I have seen. At last some recognition that there are roots in this state also! Thank you for this webinar. I sent the information about it to several friends. We all grew up there and have family roots there but live far away now. I will pass it on to my school classmates web site also. Thank You again
