This talk looks at free online sources that are often overlooked in preference for the main commercial websites. It is focused on English and Welsh resources. The talk gives ideas of where else you could go to expand your hunt for your ancestors’ life story.

Thank you Mia, I did not realise that images of Lancashire parish records were available to view on line at Family Search. This is a big find for me.
Mia had some useful information to remind us about where to look for records. With regard to Online parish Clerks, though, I was disappointed that she missed commenting on the origin of the program and in illustrating the two most well-defined regions of Cornwall (where it started) and Devon, for which I am one of the OPCs. While many so-called OPC programs and webpages have data, they may not have individual OPCs with the expertise to assist researchers.
lots of good info especially for someone new to British genealogy
I hope Mia comes back. It was very helpful!
SO much information! I will be going back and listening to this webinar again – the syllabus alone is worth the price of membership.
Mia Bennett, thank you for your fantastic presentation and accompanying syllabus which have given me numerous “off the beaten path” resources to further my research. Amazing!!!
Helpful
