About this webinar

Is that parish of birth of your Nordic ancestor proving to be elusive? Without it, we cannot make the trip “across the pond.” Often that parish is identified in the records located in the United States and research will reveal the name or at least narrow it down. We will explore numerous US record sets where the parish could be recorded and then we will identify the international databases that can also assist in our identification of the parish of birth.

A lot of good info that I’m sure will help me with my Norway searches.

    A really good webinar!

Although all l considered as Nordic countries, all of these countries have unique ways to keep and search records. Morelli’s Fire Hose method gave the best basic research tools to all of them. Both concise and a wide range these tools can help everyone.

Every webinar I watch brings me knowledge that I can use daily in my searches, organization, presentation. Even as a professional, we can not know it all and there is always something new in every aspect of the field. Geoff and the team are amazing and find fantastic presenters like Jill Morelli who makes the topic not only interesting but so informative.

Very well done (and I’m an experienced researcher in Scandinavia). Re: the last question about if you know the farm but not the parish – the Oluf Rygh: Norwegian Farm Names site is essential://www.dokpro.uio.no/rygh_ng/rygh_form.html. You need not fill in every field.

wonderful webinar, enjoyed Jill Morelli as well
