    If you’re interested in analyzing the photo, it would be best not to ‘clean it up’ or restore it, but to look at it in as close to the original form as possible. I noticed you mentioned you were looking for ‘scars or birthmarks,’ for example. These would be wiped out my many photo editors if they were faint or mistaken for a blemish on the photo. The cleaned up versions are nice for home decoration or when detail is not important.
