Nancy Gavin Koester is a Western NY native, having grown up in Hamburg, NY. She has been involved in genealogy for over 40 years, starting at the age of 13. Nancy has been a professional genealogist for over 25 years. She has a certificate in Genealogical research from Boston University, a certificate in Irish History from Trinity College in Dublin, and certificates in Advanced Genetic Genealogy and Irish Genealogy I and II from the Genealogical Research Institute of Pittsburgh. Nancy has taught numerous lectures on DNA and genealogy, as well as teaching adult education classes. She is a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists, interim Vice-President of the Western New York Genealogical Society, a member of the Buffalo Irish Genealogical Society, and a member of the New York State Genealogical and Biographical Society. Nancy and her husband Dan raised six children on their farm in Eden, where they raise hops.
