In spite of birth entries for Margareta's five siblings in Hishult, there was no record of her birth in the parish. Tax records quickly identified the father, and revealed multiple moves within a narrow span of time; however, identification of the mother remained elusive. No witnesses to births of the children provided clues; no household examinations existed. Coupling the understanding of broad context (naming patterns, inheritance laws, the calendar shift, etc.) with mtDNA and documentary evidence, the mother was identified and the lack of a records was explained.

Beautifully clear and well presented. Well worth watching even if you have no Swedish connections (I don't!) for methodology and general interest.
Enjoyed the presentation. My mtDNA and matches identified my 3rd GGM was born in Sweden but moved to Norway. 2nd GGM was born in Norway. The information on The Moving In and Out records plus permission record will be very helpful.

Her methodical, logical approach to her research question was easy to follow.
I was especially impressed with Jill's ability to spell out various inferences that can and cannot be made based on any given piece of information. Yet, she was still able to weave a coherent narrative, too.
I loved all the examples Jill provided and the methodology she used in her research.
Loved it. Would love to see more about Swedish research. Maybe a tech one about using Arkivdigital?
