Will the chat from this webinar be posted soon? Dr. Gleeson was going to post some links in it, and there was no way to download the chat during the webinar.

I enjoyed this webinar, and hope to use the tips he gave to help break some Irish brick walls for me!

      K. I posted the link to his worksheet above in the description. And this is the link to Martin McDowell's talk that he mentioned https://familytreewebinars.com/webinar/why-testing-at-ancestry-is-not-enough/

This is a really informative webinar. A must for those with Irish ancestry but applicable for anyone looking for an unknown parent. I laughed aloud at the reference to John Kelly from Dublin, who ran away to join the circus, because yes you guessed it! My thickest brick wall is my great-great grandfather, John Kelley, that DNA says may not be a Kelley! Maurice also gave great advice for tracking those ancestors pre civil registration. I will be watching this one many times.

It was applicable to all cases of finding unknown parentage. Outstanding advice! I have solved a few parental cases, the most difficult of which was where the closest DNA match was a 3rd cousin (confirmed by genealogy research and independent testing). The common ancestors - great-grandparents of an unknown biological grandfather - immigrated to the U.S. from Ireland around 1849. The Ireland website suggestions by Maurice Gleason were unknown previously to me (I'm in U.S.). Thank you!

I loved it all. Maurice's ideas are helpful, whether one is looking at the Irish or other nationalities. I also took note that when a cluster square is incomplete, it might mean your DNA cousin is not through your known CAC but perhaps further back. That might break down a wall I have now with a Scottish line. Thanks.

Really interesting, thank you Maurice Gleeson. I knew my father but he used 3 different names in his lifetime so still trying to figure out who he really was. My siblings and I think his father was originally from Ireland. Thank you for the hints and tips.
