About this webinar

The land now known as British Columbia has been inhabited for many centuries, but most genealogical records started after the 1858 Gold Rush, which prompted many arrivals from California. Today, the province leads the rest of Canada in its commitment to making available a comprehensive collection of valuable resources. Thank you, Dave for a wonderful presentation! It was clear & easy to understand. I believe you being a newspaper man made it all that much more interesting. I loved all the great pictures! The stories of both your personal family history, how you found them, some of the pitfalls to be aware of, the resources & some relatable, famous people stories were fascinating & fun. Thank you for setting up, managing & sharing the website CanGenealogy to help out others, be a resource in our Canadian research.

Dave is an excellent presenter and researcher. I can’t wait to look into the many online resources he shared with us. His cautions about published incorrect names, ages, addresses, etc. are valuable reminders.
