So you have traced your family's history back to an ancestor who lived in Ontario (or its predecessors, Canada West and Upper Canada) before civil registration. Now what? This lecture provides an overview of the six key record groups for pre-civil registration research (before 1869), what information you can expect to find, and where you'll find it.

Very well organized and informational. I like that Janice had sufficient slides to illustrate her points, without overwhelming viewers with too many graphics. Thanks also for including maps!!
What a great webinar. This information was very valuable for my research. Cannot wait to start checking out the resources shared.
My father's Longhurst and Burton Families were in Ontario/ Canada East. I have researched for years but now, I can go more in-depth. Especially helpful was the Agricultural Census of 1851/52 and being able to see the headings close up. Many thanks.
I found this to be a very informative presentation, along with the syllabus. I look forward to more webinars presented by Janice Nickerson about one of my ancestral homelands, to wit: Ontario (Canada West, Upper Canada).
Superb content in presentation and Q & A. Thank you!
I am really looking forward to early Canada West/Ontario research - I have 15 ancestors (so far) born there before 1850
Very well-organized, straightforward presentation. I am happy that I shall have the webinar notes to refer to also.
One of Canada's best genealogy presenters with her well thought out screenshots which paint a picture as you follow along with the most logical syllabus imaginable!
