About this webinar

WikiTree is one of the Global family Trees available online that works collaboratively to have an accurate, single family tree. You may have heard of WikiTree, but did you also know that WikiTree does DNA as well? WikiTree has very robust DNA features which can identify testers who may match you in the DNA connections section of an ancestor’s profile. We will work the features and show you how to further your family history research using WikiTree and its DNA features.

This webinar was far beyond my expectations! Up until now, I (wrongfully) thought WikiTree did not hold a lot of merit, but Mags proved me wrong in the first 5 minutes! She really loves and knows her stuff, and it shows! Her energy is contagious! But I really wish I could sit in on a hands on seminar with her and have here walk me through the process! But alas! I will be watching this presentation more than once!

I have taken dna tests and joined some sites. Would wiki be a way to organize? I liked the pace of this webinar and think its approach could be helpful. Thanks to Mags Gaulden.

One complaint I’ve heard in the past about community trees (specifically FamilySearch) is someone else continually changing your tree with incorrect info, you changing it back, then the same person changing it again, and on and on. That has kept me away from community trees. It was not quite clear to me exactly how that is prevented. Also not clear how specific source info is added to resolve the problem of personal trees being changed. Good webinar.

Excellent presentation. I’m familiar with WikiTree but had no idea how to use the DNA feature. I will be doing so in the future now that I know what to do.
