About this webinar

Everywhere we turn we hear from someone recommending the latest and greatest apps and tools to use in our research. But should we try to use all of them? Some of them? None of them? How do you choose what is best for you? We will go over the research process and help you decide which of your own activities need special tools and which work well with the standard tools we all should use.

Still a big fan, since at least 1997, if not 1996. You, Rhonda McClure, Robert Charles Anderson, MaryBeth Wheeler, and Wayne Walker, for sure, all since then! Cheers!

Program was informative about all the different options that may be available to genealogists for their searches/researches and documentation.. The Simple Fact is first to know what you want a program to do for you and then try a test run on some of their Free program edits to see if it works for you.. Just the same as trying many of the different genealogy programs.. I used one program found it wasn’t capable of resolving an issue for entering the data I needed for my Tree.. got one that did resolve it….

Thank you Cyndi! I really needed your words of wisdom. Now I can (guilt-free) do some much needed housecleaning on my current family history tools. One of the points you made that impressed me most was to do whatever works for us personally. I can now take a deep breath and re-evaluate my current cache of resources.

A lot of information covered very quickly. Love the message-you don’t need all the available tools. Use what you know.

Cyndi is remarkable! I so appreciate that she’s “one of us” and teaches in a way that is inviting instead of intimidating. Her suggestions have made me curious to investigate software I hadn’t considered. It was also wonderful to know that someone else is as concerned about record keeping & organization as I am!

Very good webinar. I especially liked the advice to GO SLOW. I agree. We rush all the time and we need to sit back and relax a bit and enjoy our efforts.
