I found it very interesting when she expanded the story rather than just listing facts. This is something that I will have to try. The presentation was excellent!

This was so thoroughly researched and presented. It’s always great to listen to Judy because can she add the legal interpretation to the genealogy research. Beyond that, this was a very intriguing story; really, the Hatfields and the McCoys. That was a great tidbit.

Judy made the issue of the living members of my tree that I have ignored. We get involved in filling in the information without regard to how information effects people. I know that I will be a little more sensitive about publishing information about living people in my tree. Maybe secure permission.

Judy’s presentation effectively showed how to apply the Genealogical Proof Standard when researching historical events. Her breakdown of the Rhododendron Lodge shootout demonstrated how good documentation helps piece together what actually happened. The connection she made between an interesting story and proper genealogical methods was both informative and practical.
