About this webinar

The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) website has a wealth of resources that can be used for genealogical research. Information about records located at NARA in Washington, DC, and the NARA regional branches is online and waiting for you to discover them. Some of the actual records are even online and don’t require a visit. This lecture will guide you through the different areas of the website, show the resources available there, and how to use those resources for your research.

From my perspective, your webinar and syllabus absolutely have provided the best overall description of NARA and its website(s), their record holdings, and how to access them. NARA website(s) no longer will be so formidable and overwhelming now that I have your step-by-step roadmap to follow. I, definitely, will be including links to this Legacy Family Tree Webinar and my downloaded copy of your syllabus in my personalized United States Genealogy Research Reference Guide. Julie, I sincerely thank you!!!

Wow! That is a heck of a lot of info. Julie, thank you for giving us some in lines to the massive resource that is NARA. I can see you are right, having a plan is important as it would be easy to get lost. I can see the best way will be to first watch the webinar again, hold onto that impressive syllabus as my guide and go on several NARA exploration adventures. I hope to find a whole new world of questions to raise and answers to find. Great job Julie! I look forward to your next teaching!

Excellent presenter and presentation. Ms. Pierre-Louis suggestion at the conclusion of the webinar to access the NARA site, for an hour or so, to experiment with all that is offered was a perfect way to ascertain potential information pertinent to individual interests. Thank you very much. TLC
