Great summary of the typical voyage and route of the ancestor. Sounds like the story of a couple of my ancestors. One was indentured in Phila, PA.

Informative. I liked the content on the diaries and journals, plus dispelling of the common “religious reasons” immigration. I would to have had more discussion on finding German records in late 17th century and early 18th century translated to English. Maybe you can lead me to another webinar about this.

I got many good hints to follow to find information on my families from Germany, both the Gutt’s, Guth’s and Fritzinger’s. l

Love Jim Beidler’s presentations! Very accessible and well done. Many of my ancestors came from Palatinate in the 18th century so the informaiton presented in his workshops is invaluable.
