About this webinar

A little-known part of American history is the Asian immigrants who settled in the South in the 1800s and 1900s. Some were brought to work in agriculture, others established groceries and other businesses. Under Jim Crow segregation, they had different statuses as “Colored” or “White” depending on where they lived and the time.

I missed the first 20 minutes of the webinar, but it was so interesting, I would love to follow up and check out some of the information mentioned by Grant. I am a Chinese lady living in Toronto, Canada, my father was born in China, and my Mother was born in British Guiana South America. I have researching my Chinese Roots and any information on Chinese is of interest to me. I learned so much from Grant, did not know that the Chinese were persecuted like the Blacks in Mississippi, would definitely like to know more
