I was trying to follow along with the replay, but I can't find where in ftDNA the derived/ancestral values can be found (28:17 to ~30.36). Have things changed so drastically from January 2026 to now (July 2026)? Or is there a way to decipher the results that I'm not aware of? Blaine Bettinger tells us frDNA is doing this for us, but I can't find how to get there.
At 40:45 he shows someone with private variants. How do you search that?
I used Y-DNA to track down my maternal grandfather's family. He had changed his name and we'd never have known had I not asked my first cousin to take a YDNA test. Wow! What a shocker that was, but it opened up the tree so I was able to finally track my grandfather to his parents.

Y-DNA has been a difficult tool for me to fully understand while working to identify my husband’s surprise paternal grandfather and his lineage.
