Ahmed Johnson

Ahmed Johnson has been employed by the Library of Congress for nearly 30 years working in varying levels of responsibility.  In 2004, Ahmed began working in the Local History and Genealogy Reading Room as a Reference Librarian and was primed as the African American Genealogy Specialist.  He has lectured at national, state, and local conferences promoting the collections and services available in the Local History and Genealogy Reading Room.  As well as presentations with a focus on African American genealogical sources at the Library of Congress.  He has revised and developed, “African American Family Histories and Related Works in the Library of Congress” which is a bibliography of printed and digital sources related to African American genealogy at the Library of Congress.
